How we work · Forward deployed engineering

Engineers who work inside your business — and get results in weeks.

Instead of building from a distance, our engineers join your team, see how work really gets done, and fix what's slowing you down with AI and software. Then they check that it actually made a difference.

What it is

Why we work inside your business.

Most software disappoints for one reason: the people building it never see how your business really works. They build what's written in a document, and the document is never quite right.

The idea is simple: the knowledge that matters most is rarely written down. It lives in how your dispatcher really allocates jobs, why finance double-checks certain invoices, which workaround keeps orders moving. Engineers who see that for themselves build the right thing, faster — and hear straight away when something isn't working.

This way of working is called forward deployed engineering. It was made famous by Palantir and is now how leading AI companies get their technology working inside real businesses. We bring it to growing companies: a small, experienced team inside your business, accountable for results — at a cost that makes sense for mid-sized companies.

Your first project

What happens, step by step.

Every project follows the same rhythm, so you always know where things stand and what comes next.

Step 1

We get to know your business

Our engineers join your team's conversations and meetings, and spend time with the people doing the work. You get a written list of where time and money are being lost.

Step 2

We agree what to fix first

We pick the problem that will make the biggest difference, and agree with you how we'll measure success — hours saved, faster replies, fewer mistakes.

Step 3

Your first improvement goes live

Your team starts using it for real, with training and support from the people who built it.

Step 4

We make it better

Improvements every week based on how your team actually uses it, with a simple progress report.

Step 5

We review the results

We sit down with you: what changed, what it's worth to the business, and what we'd fix next.

Then

Keep going, or hand over

We move on to the next problem, or hand everything to your team with training and guides.

Who you'll work with

A small, experienced team that works like part of yours.

A project lead plus experienced engineers — sized to your problem, not to a sales target.

01

How they work with you

Inside your business, not outside it.

  • Joins your team's chat — WhatsApp, Slack or Teams — and your regular meetings
  • Spends time with the people doing the work, not just their managers
  • Delivers improvements every week, with your approval
  • Reviews results with you every week against the goals you agreed

This works best when…

  • Your operations run on spreadsheets, email and WhatsApp groups.
  • You bought software your team never really started using.
  • You know AI could help, but don't know where to start.
  • There's a long list of things to fix and nobody in-house to fix them.
  • Important work depends on old systems nobody wants to touch.
Outcomes

What you get

  • Results you can seeSomething real working in your business early — not a slide deck.
  • Software people actually useBuilt with your team, so it fits how they work.
  • Everything stays with youThe software, the guides and the know-how are yours.
Your data

Working inside your business, safely.

Our engineers work inside your systems, so we treat your information as carefully as you do — from the first day to the last.

Confidentiality first

We sign a confidentiality agreement (NDA) before you share anything sensitive.

Only the access we need

Each person gets their own login, with access only to what their work requires.

Your data stays put

Your information stays in your own systems and services you approve — including any AI tools we use.

Nothing changes without approval

Changes are checked and approved before your team sees them, with a record of what changed and when.

Set up in your name

The software, accounts and hosting are set up in your name, so you're always in control.

A clean exit

When we finish, all our access is removed and passwords are changed — and we confirm it in writing.

FAQ

Common questions about how we work

Straight answers about how we work. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

Ask a question

What kinds of problems do you work on?

Problems that cost you time or money every week: typing in data by hand, slow approvals, customer questions piling up, systems that don't talk to each other, reports that take days. The fix is usually a mix of AI, a simple tool your team uses every day, and connecting the software you already have.

How many people will work with us?

It depends on the problem. You'll always have one project lead as your single point of contact, with engineers and specialists joining as the work requires. We size the team to the problem and adjust it as your needs change.

Do we need our own IT team?

No — many of our clients don't have one. Your project lead is your single point of contact, and we take care of the technical side, including hosting, security and documentation.

Can you work alongside our existing IT team?

Yes. We often work with in-house teams, following their rules and processes, and take on the problems they don't have time for.

How do you keep our data safe?

We sign an NDA before anything sensitive is shared, each engineer gets their own login with only the access they need, your data stays in your systems, and all our access is removed when we finish.

Is this only for AI projects?

No. AI is often part of the answer, but we use whatever solves the problem best — sometimes that's AI, sometimes it's a simple, well-designed tool. We'd rather build the simple thing that works.
